If you attended the recent Caregiver's Workshop in October of 2019, you will be one of the first to participate in our newest venture: a forum where caregivers can talk with each other. In this space, approved members will be able to ask each other for advise, share stories and tips, help connect people to resources you've found helpful, and find real support, as well as inspiration as you provide care for your loved one. Post a question, and check in on occasion to discover the answers your community provides. This forum is intended for individuals, but may eventually be opened to professionals for their suggestions and feedback. We will also host a page of resource links under our Senior Services for your convenience, in the near future. We hope you enjoy this opportunity to connect with other caregivers, so you feel less alone in your journey of helping your spouse, aging parent, or disabled family member. You are not alone!
According to a 2015 AARP study: Approximately 34.2 million Americans have provided unpaid care to an adult age 50 or older in the prior 12 months. The majority of caregivers are female (60%), but 40 percent are male. Eight in 10 are taking care of one person (82%).
